Showed up to buy a truck that was not detailed, no biggie, test drove it, put $300 down went to bank to get cash, came right back and was told…ooops NO TITLE! I gave my husband his 30 ounce Yetti to sip on while he rode with Chad to the auction place last Friday afternoon all the way to north Ft Worth! Then they went to the court house in Ft Worth to do a title change and Chad had no identification (business card or letter head) that he was legit to sell for his own company, Penneys. And so after all that hassle NO DEAL! Dude was straight up in giving my husband back his $300 deposit. I emailed Chad the following Tuesday asking him when I could come by and get our Yetti that was left in Chad’s truck. No response, so Friday I called him said I was on my way and he said he left it back at the shop and would be looking for it. I get there, after waiting (having disturbed a worker to go fetch it)…no Yetti.
Cudos to my husband’s nephew, Bobby Kemp (aka Salutatorian), on his impressive run (literally-he’s a distance runner). Kemp racked up awards including the Governor’s Award and will be attending UT Arlington on scholarship.
We traveled from Texas to Iowa to be present for his graduation. Sadly we will miss his Eagle Scout ceremony, but am recording this tribute and await his move across the street from us in the Old Towne Arlington District.
At 39 minutes into video see the changing of the hats
As a reporter/blogger (and proud Auntee), I saw the value in this story for Arlington Proud residents so allow me to digress with a Myrtle Beach picture from long past of Bobby (in the red t-shirt) one summer with my boys…..
Now back to covering the graduation visit……..when we arrived at the Kemp home, we were greeted by Bob Kemp, who was showing off his pet “Hercules”. Here is the video link.
